Allora Network Launches Mainnet Upgrade to Version 0.17
Allora Network has upgraded its mainnet to version 0.17 as of August 19, enhancing its decentralized AI prediction protocol. This upgrade allows the network to provide multi-label predictions, moving beyond the previous model that only produced a single scalar output. The new system can now return predictions with semantic meaning, such as categorizing weather forecasts into labeled outcomes like 'rain', 'snow', and 'clear' along with their respective probabilities.
The technical shift in version 0.17 maintains backward compatibility, ensuring that existing single-output predictions continue to function without disruption. Additionally, the upgrade includes improvements to direct emissions integrations, refining the protocol's token distribution mechanics related to network participation. This change is significant for the economic incentives of model contributors and validators within the network.
Allora operates as a Layer 1 blockchain built on the Cosmos SDK, functioning as a self-improving intelligence layer. It coordinates independent machine-learning models that compete and collaborate to enhance prediction accuracy over time. The network allows anyone to contribute models and earn rewards through its native ALLO token, which was launched alongside the mainnet in November 2025. The recent updates build on earlier enhancements aimed at improving the vetting process for models contributing to active topics.
