OpenAI Partners with Samsung to Develop Next-Generation Chips

OpenAI has announced a partnership with Samsung Electronics to advance the development of next-generation chips. Harrison Kim, OpenAI's General Manager for South Korea, highlighted the collaboration during a press conference in Seoul, emphasizing the significant progress made in joint production and research efforts.

Kim noted that Samsung Electronics is among the largest companies globally utilizing ChatGPT at scale, with employees across the company leveraging the technology for various functions, including research and development, marketing, and sales. This widespread application underscores the integration of advanced AI tools within Samsung's operations.

As the demand for faster and more complex computations increases, the need for advanced memory chips is expected to grow. Kim stated that collaborating with Korean semiconductor suppliers will be a priority for OpenAI's local office, reflecting the strategic importance of this partnership in meeting future technological demands.
