Binance’s Push Into US Stock Options Shows How Far It Has Moved Beyond Crypto

A Binance account, once associated mainly with crypto trading, now gives eligible users several routes into traditional markets.

The latest addition, options on more than 1,000 selected US stocks and ETFs for non-US users, extends a line-up that already includes direct stocks and ETFs, tokenised securities and equity-linked perpetual futures.

The product launched in partnership with a US-registered broker-dealer, Alpaca Securities LLC aligns with the broader trend of pivoting toward super apps that can meet users’ demand for multi-asset exposure.

According to Binance, TradFi perpetual futures volume on its platform reached approximately $433.4 billion in August 2026, about 15 times the January level.

"Stock options are an important next step in Binance’s evolution into a fuller multi-asset platform,” Shunyet Jan, Head of Exchange and Trading at Binance said.

“By adding options on selected U.S. stocks and ETFs, we are expanding the tools available to users who want to participate in equity markets, manage exposure, and access strategies that have historically been offered through traditional brokers.”

How the Options Structure Works

According to the announcement, eligible users outside the US will be able to trade options on more than 1,000 selected US stocks and ETFs via Binance’s Abu Dhabi entity, Nest Trading Limited.

The company holds the ADGM licence and serves as an introducing broker that accepts clients’ order flow, allowing users to access new products from a single Binance account, along with crypto offerings, stocks, ETFs, tokenised securities, and equity-linked perpetuals.

Alpaca Securities, a US-registered self-clearing broker-dealer and FINRA member, will execute, clear and settle the orders and provide custody.

The options do not represent ownership of the underlying securities. If exercised, users receive or deliver the relevant shares or ETF units, which are held in custody by Alpaca on behalf of Binance users. Exercise requests can be submitted up to 30 minutes before expiry.

Stock options will be available for trading during regular hours from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM ET. Certain ETF and ETN options are subject to late-close exceptions and may continue trading until 4:15 PM ET.

Binance’s TradFi Shelf Keeps Expanding

Binance launched direct trading in US stocks and ETFs via Alpaca infrastructure in June 2026. At that time, the company reported that over 80% of volume came from users in emerging markets within the first week after launch.

While many cryptocurrency exchanges offer derivatives on TradFi assets, only a few offer options.

The launch gives Binance another route into US equity exposure after direct stock trading, bStocks and equity-linked perpetuals. It also differs from Bybit’s planned Perp Options, which are written on stock perpetual futures rather than physically settled options on listed securities.

For eligible non-US users, Binance is adding a more traditional options structure inside an account that already combines crypto, equities and derivatives.
