Bit2Me Launches Bit2Shield to Aid Law Enforcement in Cryptocurrency Tracking

Bit2Me, Spain's largest cryptocurrency exchange, has established a new independent company named Bit2Shield (registered as CryptoShield S.L.) to assist law enforcement agencies, including courts and police, in tracking and managing cryptocurrency assets. This initiative aims to enhance the capabilities of investigators by providing tools for extracting wallet data, locating cryptocurrency assets, and generating digital signature forensic reports for court use. Additionally, Bit2Shield will oversee fraud investigations, verify sources of funds, and offer training to police, judges, and banking institutions.

The formation of Bit2Shield formalizes the work Bit2Me has been conducting for public institutions. In 2025, Bit2Me managed seized cryptocurrency assets valued at 1.5 million euros (approximately 1.74 million dollars) for organizations such as Interpol, Europol, and the Spanish police, utilizing blockchain analysis from Chainalysis to track these assets. The new company will store seized assets in cold wallets that require multiple signatures and will facilitate their sale as directed by authorities, with the proceeds deposited into government bank accounts in euros.

This development is part of Bit2Me's broader strategy to expand its operations beyond retail trading into banking and public institution infrastructure. The company has attracted investments from notable entities including Bankinter, Unicaja, Cecabank, Telefónica, and Tether. It is important to note that since Bit2Shield focuses on investigations and training, it does not qualify as a cryptocurrency service provider under the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA). Any cryptocurrency exchange operations will be conducted by Bitcoinforme S.L., which is authorized by the Spanish securities regulator under MiCA.
