Bitwise Introduces Automated Token Portfolios for Non-US Investors

Bitwise Asset Management has launched Automated Token Portfolios (ATPs) for eligible non-US investors, allowing them to create self-custodial portfolios that replicate model portfolios of tokenized US stocks. This new offering, which follows the introduction of Coinbase's tokenized equities on its Base network, enables users to hold their assets in personal wallets while benefiting from automatic rebalancing of their portfolios.

The ATPs include three thematic portfolios: the Mag7X ATP, which features major tech companies such as Apple, Microsoft, and Tesla; a Robotics ATP focused on automation stocks; and an AI Leaders ATP that highlights companies involved in the artificial intelligence supply chain. Each portfolio is designed with equal-weighted exposure and does not establish a fiduciary relationship between Bitwise and the investors, who retain control over their tokens.

The decision to limit the ATPs to non-US investors is influenced by regulatory considerations surrounding tokenized securities in the United States. By operating under the Abu Dhabi Global Market framework, Bitwise and Coinbase can navigate a more favorable regulatory environment, allowing for innovation in tokenized asset issuance without the constraints of SEC oversight.
