Ethena Launches Ethena Pay, a Self-Custody Payment App on Avalanche

Ethena Labs has launched the beta version of Ethena Pay, a self-custody payment application built on the Avalanche blockchain. The app is now available in 48 countries and integrates Ethena's synthetic dollar, USDe, allowing users to earn rewards on their account balances. Users can receive up to 6% annual yield and 10% cash back when making purchases with selected merchants.

The application allows users to hold USDe, receive fiat currency through international bank accounts, or deposit cryptocurrency directly. It also facilitates sending funds to others and settling in the recipient's local currency. Ethena Pay supports instant global transfers, offering free transfers for USD, EUR, and other currencies, while certain fees apply to other bank transfers.

Ethena Pay features three membership tiers. Standard users can earn a 5% annual yield, while those who deposit 2000 USD in USDe or invite 10 users can upgrade to VIP status for a 6% yield. Further upgrades are available for users who deposit 10,000 USD or invite 50 people. Cash back rewards are provided in AVAX. The app is currently available on iOS and Android, with plans to expand to the US, EU, Canada, and South Korea in the future.
