Openfort Launches Universal Deposit Address to Simplify Crypto Transactions

Openfort has introduced a new feature called Universal Deposit Address, which aims to streamline the process of sending funds across multiple blockchain networks. Launched on June 19, 2026, this feature allows users to send tokens from seven different chains to a single deposit address, automatically managing the bridging and routing of assets without requiring manual intervention. The primary use case involves sending tokens to a Solana wallet, where the expected asset is USDC, regardless of the original token or network used by the sender.

The supported networks at launch include Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, Ethereum, BNB Chain, and Solana. This innovation is designed to simplify the onboarding process for application developers, as they no longer need to create separate flows for users coming from different chains. Instead, one deposit address can handle transactions from various networks, ensuring that the app receives a consistent asset on a predictable chain.

Openfort's initiative is part of a broader trend in the crypto space, with other companies like Biconomy and Particle Network also developing similar Universal Deposit Address solutions. These advancements aim to reduce user drop-off during onboarding by automating the bridging and routing processes, making the experience more akin to traditional bank transfers. However, there are concerns regarding transparency, as users may have less visibility into the transaction paths and associated fees when these processes are automated.
