Tom Lee Predicts Bullish Phase for Cryptocurrency Market in Next Year

Tom Lee, Chairman of BitMine, has forecasted that the cryptocurrency market is poised to enter a highly bullish phase over the next 12 months. He attributes this optimistic outlook to significant liquidations of leveraged positions, which exceeded $19 billion on October 10 of last year, coinciding with U.S. threats of imposing a 100% tariff on China. Lee suggests that this clearing of borrowed funds indicates that the market may be nearing the bottom of its four-year cycle, with a potential turnaround expected next month.

In addition to his short-term predictions, Lee expressed enthusiasm for the long-term prospects of asset tokenization. He estimates that if $100 trillion in assets transition to blockchain technology and generate a revenue of 1%, this could yield approximately $1.1 trillion annually. This scenario represents a market opportunity of around $20 trillion based on traditional business valuations.

Despite the bullish sentiment, BitMine currently holds 5.93 million ETH, which has resulted in a paper loss of about $5 billion. Over the past decade, Fundstrat has consistently advised clients to allocate 2% of their portfolios to cryptocurrency assets. Lee noted that clients who followed this guidance now see cryptocurrency assets comprising over 85% of their portfolios.
