BitMart’s Page Has Posted a Call for the CEO to Account for Users’ Funds

      • A post appeared on BitMart’s Chinese X account calling on the company’s management to clarify the situation.
      • The note says the withdrawal issues have not been resolved, and some employees have not received their latest salary.
      • BitMart’s CEO said the account was hacked.

A message was posted on the exchange BitMart’s Chinese account urging the company’s CEO, Sheldon Xia, to conduct an audit and provide clarification regarding user funds. He later said the page had been hacked.

At the time of writing, the post had been deleted. However, some users managed to take screenshots, including a response directly from BitMart’s CEO.

      The statement said the following:

“Sheldon Li [also known as Sheldon Xia] and Yi Li, you owe BitMart users and employees an explanation. As of now, many users cannot withdraw assets, and team members have not received last month’s salary or the compensation they are fully entitled to. This is not something you can brush off with a statement about shutting down operations.”

      BitMart’s CEO responded as follows:

“We have compiled all the necessary information on X, and it is all fabricated rumors. We will file a police report and send a lawyer’s letter to the X team requesting a technical and analytical review of the data. Employee funds do not take priority over client assets — everyone is a client, and there are no privileges.”

Later, Xia emphasized that the account that published the initial statement had been hacked. According to him, BitMart employees have nothing to do with the situation.

At the same time, he did not refute the information laid out in the appeal.

BitMart announced it will shut down at the end of July 2026. Shortly after that, reports emerged that many users were experiencing issues withdrawing funds from the platform.

Later, 117 Partners founder and managing partner Thomas Braziel said that the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA) had refuted the exchange’s claims of being registered in the jurisdiction. According to him, there is currently no clear understanding of where the exchange is registered or how to file claims against it.
