Charles Schwab Expands Crypto Offerings with Addition of LINK, SOL, and AVAX

Charles Schwab has announced the addition of Chainlink (LINK), Solana (SOL), and Avalanche (AVAX) to its Schwab Crypto platform, expanding its offerings from two to five digital assets. This move, revealed on August 27, marks the brokerage's first expansion since it began direct trading of Bitcoin and Ethereum in May 2026. The new tokens are expected to be available to Schwab's nearly 40 million account holders in the coming months.

The decision to include these cryptocurrencies reflects a growing demand from clients for more diverse digital asset options. Joe Vietri, Head of Digital Assets at Schwab, emphasized that the expansion allows clients greater flexibility in managing their digital asset allocations while remaining within Schwab's established investment framework.

Schwab charges a competitive fee of 0.75% per crypto trade, which is lower than many other platforms. This integrated approach allows clients to trade cryptocurrencies alongside traditional assets like stocks and bonds without needing separate accounts on other exchanges. The inclusion of LINK, SOL, and AVAX highlights Schwab's recognition of the evolving landscape of digital assets, catering to both retail and institutional interests.
