CrowdStrike (CRWD), Cyber Security Stocks Surge on AI Warnings

CrowdStrike (CRWD) and other cyber-security stocks are surging on Monday in response to the AI stock dip to open the week. The fresh warnings from leading AI executives put AI-driven cyberattack risks and demand for stronger security tools back in focus. CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc. (CRWD) rose more than 10%, Palo Alto Networks, Inc. (PANW) gained over 7%, Fortinet, Inc. (FTNT) climbed more than 5%, and Okta, Inc. (OKTA) advanced about 8%.

AI stocks sank to open Monday trading after stark warnings from OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei. Over the weekend, the growth of AI became a heavy debate, with US President Donald Trump even denouncing the call to slow AI growth. However, one sector that became a beneficiary of those warnings was cybersecurity.

CrowdStrike (CRWD) stock is up 12% to $232.08, Zscaler (ZS) stock is rising 12% to $183.97, and Palo Alto Networks (PANW) stock is jumping 11% to $366.40 in midday Monday trading. Over the past six months alone, CrowdStrike’s stock has risen a massive 94.8%, reaching $206.38 per share. This was partly thanks to its solid quarterly results, and now AI warnings are sending security stocks higher.

Wall Street analysts’ revenue forecasts signal a company’s potential. Predictions may not always be accurate, but accelerating growth typically boosts valuation multiples and stock prices, while slowing growth does the opposite, though some deceleration is natural as businesses become larger.

Over the next 12 months, sell-side analysts expect CrowdStrike’s revenue to rise by 23.2%, close to its 36.5% annualized growth for the past five years. This projection is admirable and indicates that the market is forecasting success for its products and services. The next scheduled catalyst for CrowdStrike is its Q3 FY27 report, with the company guiding to revenue of $1.523 billion to $1.529 billion and non-GAAP diluted EPS of $0.31. That report can show whether the AI safety narrative is translating into net new ARR alongside the record $332.8 million CrowdStrike posted in Q2 FY27, when total revenue grew 25.8% year over year to $1.47 billion.
