Grayscale: Zcash Mining Rewards Are About 2x Bitcoin’s per Machine and 4x per MWhGrayscale said strong Zcash price performance has made ZEC mining highly profitable, encouraging more mining activity and strengthening network security. It estimates that a Zcash mining rig currently generates roughly twice the daily mining rewards of a Bitcoin miner and about four times as much revenue per megawatt-hour, although the hardware used to mine the two assets is not interchangeable. On a standardized hashpower basis, total Zcash mining activity has risen by more than 2.5x this year, creating a potentially reinforcing cycle in which higher token prices attract more miners, improve network security, and may in turn support the price.
