Nscale Plans $3 Billion IPO Amid AI Data Center Expansion

Nscale, a London-based AI infrastructure company, is preparing to raise up to $3 billion in an initial public offering (IPO) in the United States, targeting a listing in September 2026. The company, which was founded in 2024 by Josh Payne as a spin-off from Arkon Energy, is currently valued at $14.6 billion and has secured $51 billion in contracted revenue, reflecting a significant backlog of committed compute deals.

The company has experienced rapid growth, reporting approximately $33 million in revenue for the entirety of 2025, with Q1 2026 revenue reaching around $37 million. Projections indicate that Q2 2026 revenue could exceed $100 million. Nscale specializes in building AI-optimized data centers designed specifically for GPU-heavy workloads, distinguishing itself from traditional cloud infrastructure providers.

Nscale's IPO plans come at a time when major tech companies, including Microsoft, Google, and Amazon, are investing heavily in AI data centers. The company has also partnered with NVIDIA to enhance its GPU deployments, addressing a critical bottleneck in the AI supply chain. If successful, Nscale's IPO would rank among the largest tech offerings of 2026, although investors will be closely monitoring how quickly the company can convert its substantial backlog into recognized revenue.
