Strive Acquires Over 105 Bitcoin in First Hour of Trading

Strive, a Bitcoin treasury company, successfully raised enough capital to purchase more than 105 Bitcoin within the first hour of trading its preferred stock, $SATA. This rapid acquisition is part of Strive's ongoing strategy to build one of the largest corporate crypto hoards on public markets, utilizing its at-the-market (ATM) program for its Variable Rate Series A Perpetual Preferred Stock.

The ATM program, authorized in December 2025, allows Strive to issue up to $500 million in preferred stock, which carries a par value of $100 and offers a variable annualized dividend of approximately 13%. This financial structure enables the company to fund Bitcoin purchases without incurring debt or diluting common shareholders, maintaining a debt-free balance sheet throughout the process.

Since its initial public offering of 2 million SATA shares in November 2025, which raised about $149 million, Strive has significantly increased its Bitcoin holdings. The company’s treasury grew from approximately 19,000 BTC in June 2026 to over 21,356 BTC by late August 2026, following substantial purchases funded entirely through equity proceeds. This includes a notable acquisition of 1,110 Bitcoin at an average price of roughly $73,409 per coin during a single transaction.

Strive's approach of using perpetual preferred equity instead of convertible notes distinguishes it from other corporate Bitcoin accumulators. While this method incurs higher costs due to the 13% dividend, it protects common shareholders from dilution. As the company continues to utilize its $500 million ATM authorization, it is positioned to maintain its aggressive Bitcoin acquisition strategy in the coming months.
