Blockworks Expands Token Transparency Framework with New B-1 Filings

Blockworks has released the fifth batch of B-1 filings under its Token Transparency Framework, bringing the total number of disclosures to 161. Launched in June 2025, this initiative aims to provide a structured approach to token launches in the cryptocurrency industry, akin to the S-1 prospectus used by companies before going public on stock exchanges. The B-1 filings are voluntary and industry-driven, allowing for a standardized disclosure of a token's economics, governance structure, allocation strategy, and risk profile.

As of early September 2026, the framework includes 105 B-1 filings among its total disclosures. The previous batch featured tokens such as ASI, CHZ, COMP, AKE, HBAR, KAITO, MANTRA, RAIN, WLFI, and WLD. Notably, Blockworks compiles filings even if issuers do not participate, ensuring that every token has a baseline record. Additionally, the framework includes B-2 filings for more established protocols, allowing investors to differentiate between newly launched tokens and those with operational histories.

In August 2026, Blockworks introduced RapidFile, a tool designed to streamline the submission process for issuers wishing to file their own disclosures. The Token Transparency Framework dashboard now features a combination of issuer-filed and Blockworks-compiled entries, with the former carrying more weight due to the issuer's endorsement of the information's accuracy. The Transparency Alliance, a coalition supporting the framework, distributes these filings to institutional investors and analysts, enhancing their credibility.

Blockworks has engaged with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) regarding the framework since July 2026. While the Token Transparency Framework operates outside formal regulatory oversight, its growth from zero standardized filings to 105 B-1s in just over a year indicates significant momentum in the cryptocurrency market. The inclusion of well-known tokens like HBAR, COMP, and WLD suggests that the framework is gaining traction among projects with substantial market capitalizations and institutional investor interest.
