Zoth Launches zPayments on Coinbase's Base, Aiming for $6 Billion in Annual Payouts

Zoth, a stablecoin neobank based in Dubai, has introduced its zPayments platform on Base, which is Coinbase's Layer 2 network. This launch allows businesses to execute instant, compliant stablecoin payouts in local currencies across 171 countries, utilizing USDC as the primary stablecoin. In its inaugural year, zPayments processed over $500 million in transaction volume, averaging approximately $40 million monthly with a success rate of 99.1%. The company now aims to significantly increase this volume, targeting $6 billion annually.

The zPayments platform has transitioned from a managed settlement desk to a self-serve model, enabling businesses to initiate cross-border payouts independently. Traditional money transfer services typically charge transaction fees ranging from 3% to 6% and can take several days to settle. In contrast, Zoth claims its payouts can be completed within minutes and at costs up to 80% lower than conventional methods. The company has established a network of over 200 banking partners to facilitate local currency conversions and compliance in various jurisdictions, with a strong presence in the Middle East and Southeast Asia.

Antonio García Martínez, Head of Growth at Base, highlighted the integration as a significant advancement for real-world payment utility on the network. Zoth has plans to expand its offerings by incorporating additional blockchain networks and stablecoins, indicating a broader multi-chain strategy. The company has also secured Money Transmitter Licenses in all 50 US states and holds registration with FINTRAC in Canada, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

In recent developments, Zoth signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Bakkt, a digital asset platform, in May 2026, and launched tokenized stocks in August 2026, further diversifying its product offerings. CEO Pritam Dutta emphasized that the zPayments platform was rigorously developed and tested through real-world transactions before being made available as a self-serve tool.
