Coinbase Vice Chairman Predicts End of Uncertainty in Cryptocurrency Regulation

Ryan VanGrack, Vice Chairman of Coinbase, expressed optimism regarding the future of cryptocurrency regulation during an interview on CNBC. He indicated that the prolonged period of uncertainty surrounding regulatory frameworks is nearing its conclusion, with expectations that clear guidelines will soon emerge from either Congress or regulatory agencies.

VanGrack highlighted the progress of the CLARITY Act, a comprehensive legislative proposal exceeding 600 pages, which is reportedly gaining bipartisan support. This support comes from various stakeholders, including law enforcement organizations, Wall Street firms, and crypto advocates. He emphasized that both the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) have signaled their intent to introduce new regulations in the near future.

In his remarks, VanGrack urged policymakers to prioritize effective regulation over political considerations, stating, "It's time to choose policy over politics and get this done." His comments reflect a growing consensus among industry leaders that a more structured regulatory environment is essential for the future of cryptocurrency in the United States.
