Family Offices Show Interest in Solana Amid Cautious Approach to Hyperliquid

A recent report from CoinShares highlights a growing interest among family offices in Solana, while their engagement with Hyperliquid remains more tentative. The report, published in July 2026, indicates that family offices are increasingly bullish on Solana, which has seen significant activity in the prediction markets sector. In contrast, while there is curiosity surrounding Hyperliquid, it has not yet translated into strong conviction or direct investments.

The prediction markets sector has experienced remarkable growth, with combined monthly notional volume across major platforms surging from $4.5 billion in September 2025 to $43.7 billion by June 2026. Solana's protocols contributed approximately $1.4 million in monthly revenue during the second quarter of 2026, aided by applications like Phantom and Jupiter that facilitate user access and enhance Solana's competitive edge.

Hyperliquid, which launched its HIP-4 outcome markets on May 2, 2026, reported $331.1 million in cumulative notional volume within the first nine weeks. Family offices are approaching Hyperliquid cautiously, primarily investing through equity stakes in treasury vehicles linked to the platform rather than acquiring direct token holdings. CoinShares has also introduced ETP products to simplify institutional access to both Solana (SOL) and Hyperliquid (HYPE).

The report positions both Solana and Hyperliquid as beneficiaries of the prediction market boom, emphasizing that their investment appeal is rooted in ongoing platform activity and protocol revenue rather than reliant on transient market events. This structural investment case suggests a long-term outlook for both networks as they navigate the evolving landscape of cryptocurrency and prediction markets.
