Kamino Appoints Michael Weisz as CEO to Drive Institutional Growth

Kamino, a lending and liquidity protocol built on the Solana blockchain, has appointed Michael Weisz as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective September 15, 2026. Weisz, who co-founded Yieldstreet, an alternative investment platform that has deployed over $6 billion across various asset classes, is expected to lead Kamino's expansion into institutional markets and the United States.

With over two decades of experience in the fintech sector, Weisz previously developed a platform at Yieldstreet that provided access to traditionally exclusive asset classes such as real estate and marine finance. His leadership is anticipated to enhance Kamino's offerings, which include a peer-to-pool lending market and automated liquidity vaults that support leveraged strategies and real-world asset integrations.

Kamino has shown significant growth, generating $1.84 million in revenue during the second quarter of 2026 and reaching $2.29 billion in deposits. The protocol's PRIME segment, which is backed by home equity loans, has surpassed $600 million in market size. Recent product launches include isolated markets and a Commodity Yield vault aimed at financing real-world commodity trade, reflecting Kamino's commitment to innovation and market expansion.
