Solana Transaction Size Limit Increased Over Twofold to 4096 Bytes

PANews, September 15 — according to CoinDesk, Solana's Transaction V1 was activated on the mainnet around 9:00 Beijing time on September 15, increasing the maximum size of a single transaction from 1232 bytes to 4096 bytes. After the expansion, developers can perform more complex atomic operations within a single transaction, such as enterprise multi-signature approvals, zero-knowledge proof applications, and multi-step transaction merging. This upgrade changes the data capacity of a single transaction and does not affect the transactions per second (TPS); the old format can still be used for sending, but wallets and data services need to adapt to read V1 transactions.
