MediaTek Secures $3.9 Billion in Overseas Convertible Bonds with Major Investments from Nvidia and Alphabet

MediaTek has successfully completed the pricing of $3.9 billion in overseas convertible bonds, marking a significant milestone in Taiwan's capital market. This issuance, which is the largest of its kind in the country's history, saw Nvidia invest $3.5 billion, accounting for approximately 90% of the total amount raised. This investment represents Nvidia's first foray into the Taiwanese market and signals a deepening partnership between the two companies.

In a joint statement, MediaTek and Nvidia announced plans to enhance their collaboration, with MediaTek set to utilize Nvidia's NVLink Fusion and NVHBM technology to improve data center component communication. Nvidia's CEO Jensen Huang emphasized the importance of this partnership, indicating that it has expanded significantly and positions MediaTek's processors as foundational for the next generation of Windows PCs.

The fundraising effort attracted considerable interest from long-term partners, including Alphabet, Google's parent company, and various international investors, highlighting the strong market confidence in MediaTek's future prospects.
