Nvidia's AVO Agent Achieves Perfect Score on ARC-AGI-3 Benchmark

Nvidia's AVO agent has achieved a groundbreaking milestone by completing the ARC-AGI-3 benchmark with a perfect score of 100%. This accomplishment, announced on August 21, marks the first time any AI system has successfully navigated all 183 levels across 25 environments designed to test interactive reasoning capabilities without human assistance.

The AVO system, which stands for Agentic Variation Operators, utilized Anthropic's Claude Opus 5 model. While Claude Opus 5 alone scores approximately 30% on the same benchmark, the enhancements made by Nvidia's architecture allowed AVO to outperform the previous best performer, VISTA, by requiring 12% fewer actions to complete the tasks.

ARC-AGI-3 evaluates an AI's ability to adapt and reason in unfamiliar settings, akin to a player learning the rules of a new video game. The benchmark emphasizes the importance of genuine reasoning over mere pattern recognition, challenging AI systems to discover patterns and make decisions independently. Nvidia's AVO system incorporates persistent memory and a supervisory mechanism to enhance its learning and decision-making processes, which contributed to its unprecedented performance.
