Tether CEO Highlights Growing USDT Adoption in Developing Countries

Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino reported on August 23 that countries such as Venezuela, Argentina, Bolivia, and Turkey are increasingly adopting USDT to address challenges related to currency devaluation. This trend is particularly evident in domestic and cross-border trade, where USDT serves as a digital dollar and a means of value storage amid rapid depreciation of local currencies and cash shortages.

In Venezuela, small and medium-sized enterprises are utilizing USDT for settling import and export transactions. Similarly, Bolivia has incorporated USDT into commercial dealings, including fuel procurement. Argentina's informal economy and peer-to-peer markets have also embraced USDT for value preservation and exchange, reflecting a significant shift in how residents manage their finances amidst economic instability.

In Turkey, residents are turning to USDT as a strategy to mitigate the effects of ongoing inflation. The increasing reliance on USDT in these countries highlights the growing role of cryptocurrencies in providing financial solutions in regions facing economic challenges.
