TRM Labs report: AI use in crypto crime grew 40% over the past year

PANews reported on August 22, according to The Block, that TRM Labs noted in its latest report that over the past year, the use of artificial intelligence in crypto crime increased by 40%. The report said crypto hackers are increasingly using artificial intelligence for vulnerability analysis, social engineering attacks, and infiltration. TRM pointed out that most ransomware attacks already use artificial intelligence during the phishing and initial access stages, while no-code ransomware toolkits sell for between $400 and $1,200. TRM said the number of digital asset hacking cases reached a record 201 in the first half of 2026, more than double the figure for the same period in 2025.
