Whitechain Announces Relaunch as an OP Stack-Based L2 Network

      • Whitechain is relaunching as a distribution-focused Ethereum L2 network built on the OP Stack.
      • The project is part of W Group, which also includes the WhiteBIT crypto exchange.
      • On August 18, Whitechain will launch a public testnet, open applications for funding, and roll out a migration track for Web3 teams.

The Whitechain blockchain platform is relaunching as a distribution-focused L2 network built on Ethereum. Project representatives told Incrypted.

Whitechain is part of W Group — a global fintech ecosystem reaching more than 40 million users worldwide. The group also includes the WhiteBIT crypto exchange, whose audience exceeds 10 million users.

The press release says the platform was designed to address one of the biggest challenges for Web3 projects — user acquisition and reach. According to the team, Whitechain is meant to combine onchain infrastructure with the distribution capabilities of an already established financial and crypto ecosystem. This should give Web3 projects a path to attract users far beyond the blockchain itself, the statement said.

Traditionally, L2 networks have competed on technical performance, scalability, and transaction costs. The team noted that Whitechain puts distribution at the core of its model. Relaunched on the OP Stack as an Ethereum-based L2 network, Whitechain is expected to help projects tackle what often becomes the hardest part after building a product: acquiring users, attracting liquidity, and sustaining consistent activity.

“There are many strong ecosystems, but what increasingly sets them apart is their ability to distribute,” said Vladimir Nosov, founder and president of W Group, and founder and CEO of WhiteBIT.

According to him, the industry has built complex infrastructure, but strong technology alone does not guarantee mass adoption.

“We want Whitechain to change that equation. Our ambition is to give developers a reliable technical foundation and channel the distribution power of our ecosystem toward products that are ready to scale,” Nosov added.

      Three Support Tracks for Projects

W Group is backing the relaunch of Whitechain. The program is structured across three tracks for projects at different stages of development. It offers funding and growth opportunities both for teams with promising ideas and for projects that have already found their audience, proven market demand, and are ready to scale.

Specifically, it includes the following three tracks:

      • Builder Program — for early-stage teams, with the opportunity to receive up to $300,000 in funding per project for applicants who meet the requirements. Funds will be paid out upon reaching agreed milestones. The program is designed to support teams from the testnet development stage through to onboarding their first users
      • Strategic Ecosystem Deals — for established protocols with proven TVL and an active user base. Support will be tailored individually for each project. It may include help with contract and liquidity migration, co-marketing, and direct collaboration with the Whitechain team
      • Chain Expansion Support — for existing multichain protocols seeking access to additional audiences without leaving the networks they already operate on. Support will be structured around phased user-base growth with no exclusivity requirements, in line with the specific terms of the agreements.

On August 18, Whitechain will open a public testnet, launch applications for funding, and roll out a migration track for Web3 teams. This includes both early-stage developers and established protocols and multichain projects.

As the network moves toward mainnet launch, Whitechain plans to introduce core “day one” primitives (Day 1 primitives). These will include a native DEX, an oracle, and a bridge.

“Because Whitechain is launching within the mature OP Stack ecosystem of tools and infrastructure, teams will be able to build their solutions from day one on battle-tested wallets, indexers, and developer tooling, without having to wait for them to emerge,” the company concluded.
