Binance Addresses AKEUSDT Trading Fluctuations
Binance has responded to user concerns regarding significant price fluctuations in AKEUSDT contract trading that occurred on September 3 at 05:44 (UTC+8). The exchange clarified that the AKE token experienced severe volatility across the entire market, with multiple trading platforms and on-chain trends showing consistent price movements. This indicates that the fluctuations were due to overall market volatility rather than issues specific to Binance.
The exchange noted that it does not offer spot trading for the AKE token. Consequently, the AKEUSDT contract price is determined by referencing spot market prices across the entire network, rather than relying solely on Binance's own market data. Binance employs a liquidation mechanism that uses a mark price, which aggregates data from various markets to mitigate the effects of abnormal price changes.
After conducting a thorough verification, Binance confirmed that its system is functioning normally and found no anomalies in its pricing mechanism. The exchange emphasized that the incident is part of the inherent risks associated with leveraged trading during extreme market conditions.
