Centrifuge's HYB token, part of a tokenized high-yield corporate bond fund, has received an A rating from independent risk assessor Particula. This rating, assigned on August 20, 2026, enhances the credibility of the HYB token, which is backed by New York Life Investment Management, a firm managing approximately $807 billion in assets. The HYB token represents a significant step in bringing corporate junk bonds onto blockchain technology.

Launched on June 30, 2026, the HYB operates as a segregated portfolio under British Virgin Islands law, ensuring its assets are isolated from other funds. It primarily targets qualified investors seeking higher yields than traditional tokenized Treasury products. Subscriptions and redemptions for HYB occur in USDC, with New York Life managing the portfolio and Centrifuge providing the tokenization infrastructure.

Particula's rating methodology differs from traditional credit ratings by focusing on risks unique to tokenized assets, such as counterparty exposure and structural integrity. This approach offers institutional investors insights into the robustness of the onchain structure of HYB, while the quality of the underlying portfolio is assessed based on New York Life's established track record. Centrifuge's platform now features multiple products with favorable ratings from Particula, marking a notable expansion in the onchain fixed income market.
