Securitize Highlights Resilience of Tokenized Securities Amid Legislative Uncertainty

Securitize, a company managing over $4 billion in tokenized assets, asserts that its compliance-first approach allows tokenized securities to thrive without the need for new legislation such as the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act. Graham Ferguson, the Head of Ecosystem at Securitize, emphasized that the company's operations are built on existing regulatory frameworks, which he believes are sufficient for the functioning of tokenized securities.

Operating as a registered broker-dealer and transfer agent in the United States, Securitize facilitates the issuance, custody, settlement, and trading of tokenized assets on public blockchains like Solana and Avalanche. The firm has developed an issuer-sponsored model that ensures compliance with U.S. securities laws, making it adaptable to the evolving regulatory landscape.

The Clarity Act, which aims to clarify jurisdictional boundaries between the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) regarding digital assets, passed the House in July 2025 and recently advanced in the Senate. Despite this, Securitize maintains that its existing compliance measures render the new legislation unnecessary for its operations.

In a significant move, Securitize went public on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker SECZ on July 2, 2026, while simultaneously tokenizing its shares on Solana and Avalanche. This dual listing marks a pioneering effort in merging traditional and blockchain-based financial markets, further solidified by its partnership with BlackRock, the world's largest asset manager, enhancing the company's institutional credibility.
