Texas Stock Exchange Announces First Primary Listings from Two ETFs

The Texas Stock Exchange (TXSE) has secured its first primary listings with two Texas-focused exchange-traded funds (ETFs), marking a significant milestone for the Dallas-based exchange as it prepares to compete with established platforms like the NYSE and Nasdaq. Westwood Holdings Group has filed a prospectus for the Westwood Salient Enhanced Power and Infrastructure ETF, ticker PWRX, designating TXSE as its primary exchange. This filing, submitted to the Securities and Exchange Commission on March 31, 2026, positions PWRX as one of the inaugural funds to officially list on the new exchange.

PWRX is an actively managed ETF that employs options strategies alongside its equity positions to enhance income and mitigate risks. The fund targets a diverse range of companies within the energy and power sectors, including traditional fossil fuel producers, renewable energy firms, and data-center infrastructure companies. This broad investment scope allows PWRX to engage with companies of varying sizes, rather than being limited to large-cap entities typically found in energy indices.

The Texas Stock Exchange operates as a fully electronic national securities exchange and is a subsidiary of TXSE Group Inc. It has received SEC approval to function as a national exchange and is backed by major financial institutions. TXSE aims to provide a transparent and issuer-aligned alternative to the dominant NYSE and Nasdaq, which have historically controlled the U.S. equity listing market. The successful listing of PWRX is seen as a crucial step in attracting more issuers and liquidity providers to the exchange, addressing the common challenge faced by new exchanges in establishing a viable network.

The focus of PWRX on energy and infrastructure aligns well with Texas's economic landscape, as the state is the largest energy producer in the U.S. Additionally, Texas is experiencing growth in data-center capacity, making PWRX's investment strategy particularly relevant to the state's economic themes. The listing of these ETFs is expected to enhance TXSE's visibility and credibility in the financial market.
