Abra Enhances Partnership with Fireblocks for Strategy Token Custody

On September 17, 2026, Abra announced an expansion of its partnership with Fireblocks to integrate a new class of digital asset products known as strategy tokens into a regulated custody framework. This initiative aims to enhance the governance and security of yield-bearing tokenized instruments for institutional clients, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

The strategy tokens, which are synthetic assets embedded in smart contracts that execute predefined trading strategies, will automatically be routed into custody at Fireblocks Trust Company. This trust company is regulated by the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS), allowing Abra to maintain compliance while managing client assets. The tokens will be issued through Abra's subsidiary, AbraFi Labs Ltd., and will be held in separately managed accounts to align with Abra Capital Management's fiduciary responsibilities as a registered investment adviser with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Qualified custody is crucial under SEC regulations, as it mandates that registered investment advisers hold client assets with qualified custodians. Fireblocks Trust Company employs multi-party computation technology to enhance the security of private keys, ensuring that no single point of failure can compromise asset safety. This automatic custody placement at the point of issuance eliminates the need for manual intervention, reinforcing the regulatory integrity of the assets.
