      Virtuals Protocol Launches Skill-Based Markets with Overcall Token on Robinhood Chain

      Virtuals Protocol has introduced a new skill-based market platform called Overcall, which is now live on Robinhood Chain. The platform features a native token, $OVER, with a total supply of 1 billion tokens minted through the Virtuals launchpad. Overcall aims to create a decentralized, non-custodial trading environment where users can speculate on price movements and outcomes, with settlements managed entirely on-chain using Chainlink Data Streams.

      The initial offering from Overcall is a channels-style skill-based market, allowing users to take positions on price outcomes. The platform utilizes a shared on-chain vault for settlements, ensuring that funds are not held in custody during trade resolutions. The $OVER token serves as the primary utility asset for transactions within the platform, with its tokenomics designed to support long-term usage rather than short-term speculation.

      While the Token Generation Event for $OVER has taken place and the token is tradable, the full functionality of the Overcall platform is being rolled out in phases. Currently, a private testnet is operational, with plans for a public testnet and subsequent mainnet deployment. The choice of Robinhood Chain, which has seen significant transaction volumes since its launch in July 2026, is strategic for fostering an active user base necessary for the platform's success.

      Overcall represents an expansion of the Virtuals Protocol ecosystem, which has been developing agent tokenization and trading infrastructure. By integrating Chainlink Data Streams for reliable pricing, Overcall addresses a key challenge in on-chain prediction markets. Future developments, particularly regarding staking mechanics and their impact on market participation, will be closely watched as they could influence the demand for the $OVER token.
