PANews, September 16 - According to Cointelegraph, Italian authorities are investigating a government email breach linked to a leak of Revolut customer data, with hackers allegedly using compromised accounts to obtain sensitive customer information. Italy's cybercrime police have launched an investigation into suspected unauthorized access to computer systems and computer fraud. Some media outlets reported that the compromised account belonged to the provincial government of Reggio Calabria, which denied ever sending a request to Revolut. Revolut declined to disclose the government agency involved, stating that it has reported the matter to Italian authorities and will assist in the investigation, adding that its systems, databases, and customer funds are secure.
