Media: Trump’s Son’s Fund to Invest Up to $300 Million in Polymarket

      • In early August, reports emerged about a new Polymarket funding round.
      • According to the WSJ, it will be led by 1789 Capital, where Donald Trump Jr. is a partner.
      • The firm’s total stake in the company could reach $500 million, making it one of the largest investors.

Investment firm 1789 Capital, where Donald Trump Jr., the son of the U.S. president, is a partner, will invest up to $300 million in Polymarket as part of a new round. The Wall Street Journal reported this, citing sources familiar with the matter.

Disclaimer: This material is for informational purposes only and is not an advertisement for gambling or a call to participate in it. Polymarket is mentioned solely as part of a digital asset market overview and is not intended to popularize or promote the platform.

Notably, information about preparations for a new round surfaced in early August 2026. At the time, it was said that talks were at an early stage. At the same time, media reports cited a potential valuation for Polymarket of more than $20 billion.

According to the WSJ, the platform plans to raise up to $1 billion. 1789 Capital will headline the round, with a stake that could amount to $300 million.

If the deal goes through, the fund will become one of Polymarket’s largest investors. At present, that status is held by Intercontinental Exchange.

The company’s total investment in the platform stands at $1.6 billion. Its stake is estimated at around 22%.

At the same time, 1789 Capital has previously invested in the project, for example, in August 2025. At that time, Donald Trump Jr. joined the company as an advisor. However, the amount and terms of the investment were not disclosed.

WSJ noted that the fund’s previous investments total about $200 million. If the new round is successful, 1789 Capital’s total stake will reach $500 million.

      Another Potential Conflict of Interest?

According to the outlet, Congressman Jamie Raskin sent a letter to the fund’s management demanding a list of the firm’s investments, its correspondence with the government, and information on the decision to hire Trump Jr. as a partner. The organization rejected the conflict-of-interest allegations, calling them “unfounded claims.”

At the same time, the fund’s involvement — with Trump Jr. participating in its management — continues as Polymarket attempts to bring its global business back to the US. The platform operates in this market through a regulated unit, where mainly sports-related contracts are available.
