Securitize's BUIDL Reclaims Status as Largest Tokenized US Treasury Fund

Securitize's BUIDL, a tokenized US Treasury fund managed by BlackRock, has regained its title as the largest product of its kind, boasting approximately $2.8 billion in assets under management. This resurgence comes after a brief period in which Circle's USYC overtook BUIDL in total assets earlier this year.

Launched on March 20, 2024, BUIDL initially dominated the tokenized Treasury market, commanding between 40% and 46% of the sector. However, it lost its lead in March 2026 when USYC surpassed it. Following a series of inflows, BUIDL reclaimed its position by mid-2026, establishing a significant lead over its competitors as the overall tokenized US Treasury market expanded to an estimated $15 billion to $16 billion.

BUIDL, formally known as the USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund, invests in short-term US Treasuries, cash, and repurchase agreements, targeting a net asset value of $1.00 per token. Investors currently earn yields ranging from 3.4% to 4.5% APY, with dividends exceeding $100 million paid cumulatively. The fund operates across multiple blockchains and requires compliance checks for onboarding, facilitated by Securitize's infrastructure.
