Sui and Daya Collaborate to Facilitate Gasless Stablecoin Transfers in Africa

Sui and Daya have announced a partnership aimed at reducing the high costs associated with cross-border money transfers in Africa. Traditional remittance fees in the region average 7.9%, meaning businesses can lose significant amounts when wiring funds internationally. Daya, a fintech startup based in Lagos, Nigeria, has integrated Sui's blockchain technology to enable gasless stablecoin transfers, which are designed to alleviate these financial burdens.

Sui's gasless feature allows users to send stablecoins without incurring transaction fees, as the network absorbs the costs. Since its launch in May 2026, Sui's infrastructure has facilitated nearly $65 billion in fee-free transactions. This innovation is particularly relevant for African businesses, which often face some of the highest remittance costs globally.

Founded in October 2025, Daya has developed a range of financial tools tailored for African enterprises, including virtual USD accounts and stablecoin wallets. The company raised $2.4 million in a pre-seed funding round in June 2026, with participation from various investors including Hivemind Capital and the Aptos Foundation. Daya has reported over 40% month-on-month growth throughout 2026 and is actively seeking partnerships to enhance its compliance and operational capabilities across different markets.
