Visa Reports $20 Billion Annualized Stablecoin Settlement Volume

Visa has announced that its stablecoin settlement volume has reached an annualized rate of $20 billion in its fiscal second quarter of 2026, marking a 15-fold increase from the same period last year. This significant growth follows a trajectory that saw the company at approximately $3.5 billion annualized late in 2025, which then rose to $7 billion by April 2026, indicating a rapid expansion in this sector.

The payments giant now operates over 160 stablecoin-linked card programs worldwide, with payment volumes associated with these programs surging nearly 200% year-over-year. This growth highlights the increasing adoption of stablecoin-linked payment solutions, where consumers can use stablecoins for transactions while merchants receive fiat currency, with Visa managing the conversion and settlement process.

In addition to its stablecoin initiatives, Visa has expanded its partnership with Credit Coop to offer a stablecoin-denominated revolving credit facility. This facility addresses the challenges faced by early-stage card issuers in meeting their daily settlement obligations. Since its launch in 2023, the facility has financed over $2.5 billion across more than 3,000 transactions, maintaining a zero-default rate and enabling participating programs to reduce borrowing costs by up to 30% compared to traditional financing options.
