Anthropic Secures Over $10 Billion Pre-IPO Credit Facility

Anthropic is in the process of establishing a revolving credit facility exceeding $10 billion as it prepares for a highly anticipated initial public offering (IPO). The demand from banks to participate in this financing has been significant, with lead banks being asked to commit approximately $1.25 billion each.

The structure of the credit facility resembles a tiered system, where lead banks secure larger commitments, while second-tier participants are invited to contribute around $1 billion, and smaller banks can join for $750 million. This marks Anthropic's continued engagement with major financial institutions, following a previous $2.5 billion revolving credit facility closed in May 2025 with notable banks including Morgan Stanley and JPMorgan.

Anthropic's financial performance has shown remarkable growth, with its revenue run rate reportedly surpassing $65 billion as of mid-May 2026. The company's Series H funding round valued it at $965 billion post-money, and projections for the upcoming IPO suggest a valuation that could exceed $2 trillion. Anthropic filed a confidential S-1 in June 2026, initiating the process for going public while keeping its financial details under wraps during the SEC review.
