Blueprint Infrastructure Integrates Coinbase Prime Suite for Enhanced Fund Management

Blueprint Infrastructure has integrated the full Coinbase Prime suite into its platform, enhancing its offerings for institutional fund managers. This integration provides a unified system for custody, trading, staking, and rebalancing, allowing fund managers to track their digital assets more efficiently.

The integration introduces four key capabilities: custody, trading, staking, and transfer/rebalancing tools. Notably, the custody feature separates vault holdings from trading balances, enabling internal transfers to be recognized as rebalancing activities rather than taxable events. This distinction is crucial for fund accounting, as it prevents the misrepresentation of internal asset movements as taxable dispositions.

Additionally, staking rewards are organized into individual tax lots, each with its own cost basis and holding period, which is important for tax reporting. This level of detail aids fund accountants in navigating varying tax treatments for staking rewards across different jurisdictions.

Coinbase Institutional emphasized the significance of this integration in addressing the operational infrastructure needs of institutional crypto allocators. The focus on improving the foundational aspects of fund management is increasingly vital as institutional interest in cryptocurrencies grows, particularly in managing performance attribution and tax obligations with the same rigor expected in traditional financial markets.
