Circle Mints $3 Billion USDC on Solana in 24 Hours

Circle has minted $3 billion worth of USDC on the Solana blockchain within a single 24-hour period, marking one of the largest single-day issuances of the stablecoin on this platform. This issuance is part of a broader trend of increasing institutional demand for USDC liquidity on Solana, which has been steadily rising throughout 2026.

In August 2026 alone, approximately $11 billion in gross USDC mints occurred on Solana, pushing the total circulating supply on the blockchain to over $8 billion. This figure represents more than 10% of the global USDC supply for the first time. Circle has been consistently increasing its USDC issuance on Solana, often in $250 million increments, with significant mints recorded throughout the year.

The partnership between Circle and BNY Mellon, established in June 2026, aims to facilitate institutional minting and custody of USDC directly on Solana. This collaboration is designed to simplify access for large institutions to Solana's decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem, reducing the complexities associated with transferring assets from Ethereum. As Solana continues to gain traction, its lower transaction fees and faster processing times are becoming increasingly attractive for high-volume stablecoin transactions.
