Clear Street Becomes Institutional Validator for XDC Network

Clear Street, a New York-based financial infrastructure firm, has joined the XDC Network as an institutional-grade Masternode Validator. This partnership allows Clear Street to engage directly in the consensus layer of a blockchain designed specifically for trade finance and real-world asset tokenization. The firm will be responsible for block validation, ledger maintenance, and network governance, which are essential functions for the operation and security of the blockchain.

Clear Street serves over 700 institutional clients, managing customer balances of approximately $16 billion and executing daily trading volumes of around 550 million shares, equating to about $28.4 billion in notional value. The company has raised nearly $1 billion in capital and employs around 800 people. Ritesh Kakkad, co-founder of the XDC Network, highlighted that Clear Street's involvement enhances the network's presence in the United States.

The XDC Network, which operates on a delegated proof-of-stake consensus mechanism known as XDPoS 2.0, already includes other notable institutional validators such as Deutsche Telekom and SBI Holdings. The inclusion of regulated financial firms like Clear Street is expected to positively influence institutional blockchain adoption, as compliance officers at major banks are more likely to consider networks with reputable validators when evaluating blockchain solutions for settlement.
