Goldman Sachs Reports $87 Million in XRP ETFs in Q2 Filing
Goldman Sachs has disclosed a holding of $86.5 million across five spot XRP exchange-traded funds (ETFs) as of June 30, according to its latest Form 13F filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. This marks a significant shift for the bank, which had completely exited its XRP exposure in the first quarter of 2023 after liquidating a $153.8 million stake built up in late 2022.
The bank's strategy involved diversifying its investments across multiple funds rather than concentrating on a single ETF. The Bitwise XRP ETF accounted for approximately $25.76 million of the total allocation, while Franklin Templeton’s XRP Trust, trading under the ticker XRPZ, represented about $25.41 million. Additionally, Goldman Sachs reported holding around 366,000 shares in Armada Acquisition Corp II, valued at approximately $3.81 million, which is linked to Ripple’s Evernorth Holdings.
Goldman Sachs is not the only major financial institution investing in XRP ETFs. JPMorgan, Morgan Stanley, and Bank of America also reported their positions in XRP ETFs during the same period. The overall XRP ETF market has seen a rise in institutional interest, with total assets under management reaching $1.17 billion and cumulative net inflows surpassing $1.53 billion. Meanwhile, XRP's price experienced a surge of about 40% around the time of the filing, nearing $1.40, indicating a positive market reaction to institutional involvement.
