Star Bridge Capital Faces Investor Losses After Abnormal Gold Trading Liquidation

Star Bridge Capital has reported an abnormal liquidation incident in its London gold trading operations, leading to significant losses for investors. Following the incident on August 19, the company's Hong Kong office was found empty, raising concerns among clients about the platform's stability. Investors utilizing automated trading for London gold derivatives experienced rapid and extreme trading anomalies, resulting in forced liquidations of accounts as international gold prices surged.

Affected investors, numbering between 2,000 and 3,000, have claimed that the platform's system generated large reverse short positions in a matter of seconds, which led to the depletion of their account funds. Some accounts reportedly reached zero balances, with others incurring negative debts. Investors have since approached the Hong Kong police and are seeking refunds based on a previously promised policy that limits losses to 30% of their principal investment.

Star Bridge Capital, which offers leverage of up to 500 times and operates in various markets including foreign exchange and cryptocurrencies, has faced scrutiny over its trading practices. Many investors deposited funds in USDT stablecoins, complicating the tracking of their investments. The platform has positioned itself as a licensed international trading entity, but the recent events have raised questions about its compliance and operational integrity.
