X Has Launched the Cashtag Partner Program for Trading Stocks and Cryptocurrencies
- X has launched the Cashtag Partner Program in the US for stocks, ETFs, and cryptocurrencies.
- Partners include Interactive Brokers, Moomoo, Gemini, Kraken, and Coinbase.
- Trades are executed on the trading platforms’ side, while X serves as the gateway to them.
Social network X announced the launch of the Cashtag Partner Program in the US. It links posts and market data for stocks, ETFs, and cryptocurrencies to the trading platforms Interactive Brokers, Moomoo, Gemini, Kraken, and Coinbase.
The new feature lets users move from discussing an asset and viewing its quotes to trading via one of the partners. X does not execute trades itself — transactions take place on the selected broker’s or crypto exchange’s side.
As a reminder, in August 2026, former X head of product Nikita Bier announced the rollout of trading buttons for cryptocurrencies. At the time, he clarified that the platform intended to use third-party services to process transactions.
How Cashtag Partner Program Works
A user can tap a supported asset cashtag in the X feed to open a page with a price chart and related posts. After selecting the Trade button, the service prompts the user to go to one of the partners. The user then logs in or creates an account on the broker’s or crypto exchange’s website or app and places the trade there.
Cashtags became part of X’s financial infrastructure in early 2026. In January, we reported that the company was preparing Smart Cashtags to track the prices of stocks and crypto assets directly within the social network. The feature lets users link a ticker to a specific asset or smart contract and view the price, charts, and related posts.
The development of Cashtags is happening in parallel with the expansion of X’s other financial features. In particular, the company is building out the X Money payments service as part of a broader strategy to turn the platform into an “everything app.”
