Henley & Partners Report Reveals 290 Individuals Hold Over $100 Million in Cryptocurrency

A recent report by Henley & Partners highlights the growing wealth in cryptocurrency, revealing that 290 individuals worldwide possess over $100 million in digital assets. The report, released on September 8, 2026, indicates that the global cryptocurrency market has reached a total capitalization of $2.6 trillion, with Bitcoin being the dominant asset. Among the mega-holders, 151 individuals have their wealth solely in Bitcoin, underscoring its status as a long-term store of value.

The report also identifies a broader landscape of crypto wealth, with 135,694 millionaires globally, of whom 92,272 primarily accrued their wealth through Bitcoin. At the very top, there are 23 crypto billionaires, nine of whom hold Bitcoin exclusively. Despite Bitcoin trading approximately 38% below its peak in October 2025, the number of crypto holders has surged, with an estimated 742 million people now owning some form of cryptocurrency, including around 371 million Bitcoin holders.

Geographically, the report emphasizes the importance of location in crypto wealth management. Singapore has maintained its position as the leading country in Henley’s Crypto Adoption Index for the fourth consecutive year, followed by the United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, the United States, and Switzerland. These rankings reflect favorable regulatory and tax environments that attract high-net-worth individuals to these regions, particularly Singapore's clear licensing frameworks and the UAE's aggressive stance on digital asset regulation.
