Stellar Lumens Draws Global Capital as U.S. Bank Rolls Out USDC on Stellar; CEO Discusses XLM’s Rise

The Stellar network is gaining recognition on Wall Street, yet few people are talking about it. Today, the company’s CEO commented at the impactful event. In a broadcast shared Tuesday, Stellar Network CEO Denelle Dixon reflected on the achievement after U.S. Bank moved to launch its stable asset on Stellar for real-time cross-border payments.

Stellar Network is a protocol known for enabling rapid, secure, and low-cost cross-border payments. Its native token (XLM) is currently the 16th-largest virtual currency, with a market valuation of $6.59 billion, following other major digital assets, including ADA, LEO, LINK, and XMR.

      U.S. Bank moves on Stellar

What makes news around Stellar is that the protocol is quietly becoming the hub of real-world asset liquidity, further underscored by U.S. Bank debuting its USBDC stablecoin on the chain. The network’s CEO described the milestone as an indicator of Stellar’s continued ability to attract global money into its on-chain ecosystem.

The fifth-largest U.S. commercial bank, US Bancorp (U.S. Bank), completed its first cross-border stablecoin transaction trial on Stellar last week on September 9. With the trial complete, the bank plans to officially roll out USBDC on Stellar in the first half of 2027. By deploying its own dollar-backed stablecoin across the blockchain, the bank is betting on Stellar’s fast, low-cost blockchain-based payments and savings infrastructure.

According to Dixon, the launch marks another Wall Street debut on Stellar, suggesting the network is catching up with Ethereum as a major public blockchain for real-world assets. The move comes just three months after MoneyGram rolled out its MGUSD stablecoin on Stellar in June, the CEO revealed. Other institutions, including Ondo, Franklin Templeton, and Spiko, are actively operating their TradFi products on the network.

In short, the CEO pointed to a quietly growing RWA trend, setting the stage for billions of dollars in TradFi to gradually migrate on-chain. Amid this rising shift, institutional giants are choosing Stellar as a settlement layer for financial products.

      What this means for XLM

The development shows institutions are increasingly using blockchain for real-world applications, and Stellar is one of the top beneficiaries of this trend, the CEO illustrated. Institutions continue to allocate to Stellar because it has an established developer ecosystem and a large-scale, decentralized network known for rapid, low-cost asset transfers and cross-border payments.

Last month, Stellar launched a new upgrade to improve network functionality and optimize user experience, changes that are beneficial for both network users and XLM holders.
