Robinhood Wallet's On-Chain Activity Remains Minimal Post-Launch
An analysis by ARK Invest has revealed that Robinhood Wallet accounts for less than 1% of the on-chain activity on Robinhood Chain, which launched on July 1, 2026. The report, published by research director Lorenzo Valente, indicates that transactions routed through the wallet's primary swap mechanism, the 0x Settler contract, contributed only 0.5% of the total transaction volume on the new blockchain.
Despite Robinhood's aim to provide its retail brokerage users with a seamless entry into on-chain finance, the majority of activity on Robinhood Chain has been driven by external platforms, particularly GMGN and OKX. These platforms, which are not controlled by Robinhood, accounted for a significant portion of the hundreds of millions of transactions logged shortly after the network's launch. Valente estimates that even with generous adjustments, Robinhood-linked activity could only reach about 5% of total transactions, leaving 95% attributable to outside entities.
The analysis also highlighted that a substantial portion of the transactions on Robinhood Chain are likely automated, with approximately 42% flowing through contracts with three or fewer unique users. This suggests that many transactions are being executed by bots or automated trading scripts rather than retail investors. The findings raise questions about the effectiveness of Robinhood's strategy to convert its large user base into active participants in on-chain finance.
