Bybit Expands European Offerings with Super-App for Stocks and Derivatives

Bybit, a cryptocurrency exchange, is advancing its European operations by developing a comprehensive platform that will allow users to trade cryptocurrencies, stocks, and derivatives seamlessly. The exchange has already secured authorization under the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation from Austria's Financial Market Authority in May 2025 and is now pursuing a Markets in Financial Instruments Directive II (MiFID II) license. This license is crucial for offering regulated futures and options across the European Economic Area (EEA).

The exchange's strategy involves a two-pronged regulatory approach. Following the MiCA authorization, Bybit launched its dedicated European platform, bybit.eu, in July 2025. The current offerings include spot trading, margin trading with a leverage cap of 10 times, and the Bybit Card. However, the application for the MiFID II license, submitted in September 2025, is still pending approval, which would enable Bybit to provide a broader range of investment products to European users.

Bybit's ambition to create a 'super-app' for European users is underscored by its ongoing regulatory efforts and existing product lineup. While no official details have been released regarding the specific features of this super-app, the integration of traditional financial instruments with cryptocurrency functionalities is anticipated once the necessary regulatory approvals are obtained. Bybit's strategy sets it apart from competitors in the increasingly crowded European crypto landscape, as it aims to comply with both MiCA and MiFID II regulations, positioning itself to compete with traditional brokerages as well as other crypto exchanges.
