BitMart Creditors' Committee Formed to Address Frozen Assets

Echo Base has established the BitMart Creditors' Committee to represent users with frozen assets on the platform. This initiative aims to stabilize the situation for digital asset companies and assist in the recovery of funds for affected users. Echo Base has also engaged legal advisors to explore recovery strategies, including the possibility of filing for bankruptcy without financial backing.

The formation of the committee follows BitMart's lack of response to a restructuring proposal and requests from users to withdraw their funds. Echo Base had previously proposed a funding plan of up to $10 million to help BitMart file a pre-negotiated bankruptcy application, but this proposal went unanswered. In light of these developments, Sonn Law Group has begun an investigation for users with frozen assets totaling $500,000 or more, evaluating potential claims and recovery options.

Roshan Dharia, CEO of Echo Base, indicated that BitMart's current employee plan is only sustainable until January 2027. He warned that continued delays in addressing the situation could limit the available options for recovery.
